Meet the Fairtrade Farmer and Launch of Peebles' Fairtrade Website

Monday 2nd March – 7.30pm at Tweeddale Museum and Gallery

Alejandro Chamas de los Rios (Alex) is a Fairtrade producer from Cobija, in the Pando region in Bolivia. Alex will give a short presentation and then formally launch the new Peebles Fairtrade website.Alex is the current coordinator of a tri-nation group of cooperatives from Bolivia, Peru and Brazil, where a number of nut producers are looking to access fairtrade and organic markets locally.

Refreshments provided. Admission free.

Primary School Fairtrade Poster Exhibition

Tuesday 24th of February to Saturday 7th of March

at Tweeddale Museum and Gallery

Primary 7 pupils from Halyrude, Kingsland and Priorsford primary schools will be submitting posters depicting what Fairtrade means to them. All of the posters will then be displayed in the Tweeddale Museum and Gallery. A winning poster will be selected and the winning pupil will receive a Fairtrade gift for them and their school.

Admission free.
